This guiding service is built upon 30 years of client trips, personal adventures and experiences in the North eastern Adirondacks and upstate NY. Specializing in trout and bass, plus other species in the region.

Our guide services is located in Wilmington, NY 12997, home to the West Branch of the AuSable River.

Where We Guide

We offer guided trips on the WB AuSable, Saranac, Chateaugay, Chazy, Salmon, Raquette rivers and many smaller streams and brooks along with a private section of river offering wild brown trout.

I had a great full day guided trip with him this spring, pulling in over 30 trout! His knowledge both of the rivers he guides and on the art of fly fishing itself is second to none. Monet once said “ I dream of painting like Rich Garfield fly fishes”. Jimi Hendrix practiced until his fingers were bleeding in hopes of playing guitar like Rich Garfield  casts a fly. Rich Garfield once counted to infinity, two times…no wait, that was Chuck Norris..sorry, but you get my point. Seriously,  I consider it a rare privilege to spend time with and learn from a man that has reached the pinnacle of his trade through passion, curiosity, and perseverance.  When Rich takes a break from being the top fly fishing guide in the Adirondacks … he goes fly fishing. What does that tell you ? I’ve known and have fished with Rich for over 15 years and consider him a good friend.  As a college graduation gift, I recently brought my nephew on a trip with Rich which is now the basis of lifelong memories. Fishing was lights out. Rich put us on monster Trout for two days for just an epic trip! I cannot recommend highly enough. I cannot fathom how any guide could be all around better for in any way!!
