I provide private instruction limited to 2 persons from the point of an experienced guide and instructor in a relaxed setting.
FFTA’s goal is to have you leave the water with a positive outlook on fly fishing and the skills you need to fish on your own.
I have instructed this program for 3 decades and as a result my former students are now my clients because they have come to recognize that
the same level of expertise and commitment that goes into my” Learn to Fly Fish” program goes into every trip I lead.
WHAT IS FFTA’S “LEARN TO FLY FISH PROGRAM??
As an instructor and guide with 30 years watching fly fishing from an educating point of view, the one most important aspect of this sport that stands strong and is the backbone of an experienced fly fishing person are the physical skills needed on the water to “make a fly look alive and intice a fish to strike” which are broken into 3 categories:
- Basic casting skills
- Line control
- Proper fly presentation
These skills are the most important and the basic foundation to becoming an experienced fly fishing angler.
FFTA will conduct the program on the water and teach you the basic physical skills, you will not be subjected to classrooms or watching videos.
You will learn to fly fish in a “real fly fishing situation” and build the proper physical skills needed to return to water on your own with confidence.
Learn to Fly fish program is a full day 6 hour event. Instruction will take place on the water.
This program is limited to 2 persons for the finest in personal attention and a relaxed atmosphere.
Learn to Fly Fish rate — $385.00 – 1 person // — $485.00 – 2 persons.
FFTA will provided the following equipment at NO charge:
- fly rods and reels
- fly selection
- waders
- wading boots
- wading staff
You will need the following for the trip:
- NYS fishing license: https://www.dec.ny.gov/permits/6101.html
- backpack
- food/water for the day
- polarizied sunglasses with brown or rose colored lens
- baseball cap
- dressed properly for the weather
- bug repellent
